We are seeking an innovative, collaborative and accomplished research leader to be the Head of Structural Biology, our core structural biology unit that supports the development of novel gene editing proteins, using our next-generation, state-of-the-art technology. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of structural biology, ideally applied to gene editing proteins such as CAS or similar.



  • Lead a team of protein biochemistry scientists to establish protein expression, purification and characterization technologies in support of platform efforts to characterize base editors or therapeutically-relevant targeted proteins
  • Establish state-of-the art structural biology approaches internally and via strategic partnership with academic collaborators to characterize and/or engineer base editor proteins
  • Closely collaborate with the platform scientists to ensure the timely hypothesis-to-test cycle for the rapid discovery and optimization of novel editor variants
  • As a member of the research leadership team, contribute to novel target idea generations
  • Communicate scientifically rigorous findings via verbal and written communications, visualizations, and presentations



  • A Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or equivalent and a minimum of three years of experience with structural biology
  • Experience with gene editing proteins (e.g. CRISPR/Cas9) will be a significant advantage
  • Strong scientific background and publication record with proven high levels of performance
  • Ability to work independently while also building relationships with colleagues
  • Ability to adapt to increasing scope and complexity of work brought on by growth/change and helps others manage through change
  • Supervisory experience
