Position Overview:

Beam is looking for a highly energetic and analytical cross-functional leader as Director of Analytics & Insights in Product and Portfolio Strategy.  The Director will be responsible for building analytics and insights at Beam, shaping product forecasting, portfolio prioritization / scenario planning, and competitive intelligence.  In this role you will be establishing a new way of working at Beam as the pipeline continues to grow and more assets move into the clinic.  In addition, you will enable corporate decision-making on core issues such as pipeline decisions, resourcing and support key corporate decision such as financing and business development.  This role is highly cross functional and will work closely with finance, corporate development, program management, and other critical functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Create forecasts for key programs and work closely with Program Team Leads and Product Strategy Leads on Life Cycle Management (LCM) driving revenue scenarios.
  • Lead the portfolio prioritization approach with Program Management and finance, with scenario planning of the pipeline forecasts with budgets.
  • Collaborate with finance, Corp Dev, and Program Management on core corporate processes such as Long Range Planning, budget setting.
  • Build a competitive intelligence capability for the company, ensure the company is leveraging CI to shape strategy.
  • Support the finance / IR team on external communications and shaping / refining the corporate story.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in a relevant academic field; MBA, MD, PhD, or other graduate degree strongly preferred.
  • Extensive experience and track record with product strategy and commercial development with innovative medicines required.
  • Analytical in nature and demonstrated success in shaping strategies.
  • 10+ years’ experience within the pharma/biotech/biopharma space in roles of progressively increasing responsibility.
  • Proven track record in cross-functional leadership role or other cross-disciplinary background with successful team leadership experience required.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and collaborative nature with strong ability to influence, motivate, inspire, encourage and develop. others.
  • Driven by patient needs and comfortable operating in a highly scientific and technical environment while dealing with ambiguity
  • Strong collaboration, decision-making and conflict management skills with demonstrated proficiency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including strong formal presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex scientific information in an understandable manner.
  • Sophisticated understanding of the evolving scientific, clinical, regulatory, competitive, and economic trends impacting the industry, and able to adapt operational strategies accordingly.
  • Experience in both large and small company environments a plus.
